The Launch UX Index · July 2026

The state of launch-page UX.

A living, measured benchmark of how recent Show HN & Product Hunt launches actually convert, 90 scored funnels, 94 crawled. Deterministic, evidence-backed, 0-hallucination.

scope: recent launches, not "the web"

These six figures are the frozen July 2026 study snapshot, 94 launches (90 scored), and won't move until the next edition. The leaderboard below is live and updates as new funnels are added.

74%
of launches surface zero social proof, no reviews, testimonials, or user counts
62%
land in the bottom score band; only 2 of 90 scored "Excellent" (frozen July 2026 study)
6%
publish a us-vs-them comparison table (94% won't name a rival)
12%
put social proof above the fold, where it's actually seen
1
of 94 launches uses a countdown timer
22%
ship in Inter; 30% use an 8px corner, the launch monoculture

Leaderboard: the highest-scoring funnels in the corpus, launches and incumbents alike

Two ways to win: structure (supabase.com, 95, zero testimonials) or proof (ryzesuperfoods.com, 90, eleven proof points). Most launches do neither.

The Launch Autopsy, we x-rayed 94 launches, and 74% ask you to trust them with empty hands →

Half the funnel: scoring only the landing page changes the published band on 41% of funnels →

Two studies, two questions, two frozen snapshots. The Autopsy reads 94 launches from July 2026 and asks what launch pages put in front of you. The depth census reads 1450 funnels from 2026-08-09, scores 255 of them twice, and asks what we get wrong by stopping at the first page. Neither supersedes the other; they are different corpora answering different things.

Method: UXXRAY walks each funnel (landing → pricing → signup/checkout), captures every step, and extracts measured facts + a funnel-type-aware /100 score. Study set: 94 recent launches, 128 scans, July 2026. The leaderboard above is live, reproducible right now from the JSON endpoints above; the stat grid above it is the frozen July 2026 study snapshot (method in the Autopsy post) and won't move until the next edition. This table is captured when the site last built, so if a listed site has been rescanned since, its x-ray may show a newer score than the row above.
